In winme restore archive my Avast virus prog has found various trojan, virus, adware contaminations. The problem is how to get at them to remove, move or delete them.
Avast keeps saying access not allowed when attempting to move to virus chest.
    Suggestions?

    Please do,

Once you've sorted your archive folder it would be best to get a checkup. Since you've already been infected with some nasties there may be other more elusive beasties hiding.

I'll give you further details once you've done the above.

i disconnected Sys Restore, ran virus prog, moved some found vir troj exe and dll files to a separate folder with different file ext and then deleted them.
    Question
Will cab & reg files be cleaned so they don't pop back in using this technique?

    Hi recoverybound,

I wouldn't think Cab and reg files would be affected.

I've discussed your situation with one of the anti-malware experts and he's suggested you follow these instructions.

Please download and run HijackThis from here

Select "Do a system scan and save a log file "

Once the scan is complete notepad will open with your log. Close HijackThis, Do not try to repair anything yourself.

Please start a new thread in the Malware and Virus Removal forum and post your log there, quote/link to this thread if you know how.

    Notes:

You may have to split the log into multiple posts if it is too big.

As you are a new user your post(s) may be delayed as they contain URL's.

The experts on that forum are busy and it could take a couple of days before anyone gets back to you, please be patient.
