    Hi folks,

    I follow;
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927014

    to delete a scheduled task instead of disabling it. But I can't find the task. However on scheduling another task with the same name it complains saying the task of similar name already created.

    Please help. TIA

    In the mean time - give the new task a new name. It only has to be different by one character.

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your advice.

    I did it in this way. But the old .exe file has problem. Each time after login a warning is displayed. Therefore I need to remove it.

    Open an Administrative command prompt (type cmd in Vista's Start search, right-click cmd.exe that will be displayed in the Start menu and choose Run as administrator).

    Next copy/paste (or type) cd %windir%\Tasks

    Run the dir command and find the offending .job file. Now delete it (type del xxxx.job).

    Perhaps the task is hidden? Click the view menu and make sure "show hidden tasks" is checked.
