My OS is Win XP-Home. My system is not working well. Often the screen pop up with Window "Error" asking Sent or Not Sent, after choose either one then the site disappeared and back to blank desktop. Also, unable to open certain downloaded programs. Such as Real Player, Firefox etc.....
I think something was missing or mistakenly deleted during various anti-virus scan. I have tried many methods to correct this problem, but the problem remain. Also, I have tried to reinstall the OS, but the system would not allow and the screen show "the system has a newer version" and my Win XP-Home CD came with the computer and is a couple year old. Please tell me how to reinstall the OS.
    Many thanks.

    Hello ltchang,

First make sure that the 1st boot device is the cd-rom: tap the esc or F12 key on bootup to access the BIOS. Then reboot with the XP cd in the cd-rom and that will start the clean installation procedure:

    http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp

Read and print the instructions on the site before starting.

I have tried to reinstall the OS, but the system would not allow and the screen show "the system has a newer version" and my Win XP-Home CD came with the computer and is a couple year old.
Means that you have SP2 installed which you reinstall right after the clean XP install.

    Regards - Charles
