How to prolong LCD screen's life??

    Hello to all the experts out there, I just bought a new 17" LCD screen and I just want to know how to prolong its life since it was so expensive, and reparing these LCDs are also expensive.

    Would turning the monitor on and off often be better than just leaving it on? Because I normally just leave my computer on 24/7.

    Any other methods and hints also helps

    There's no problem turning the monitor on/off - as far as I can gather. I guess this technology is still relatively new - and time will tell, as they say :)

    However a search on Google for LCD Screen+Life brings up some interesting hits on the first page - didn't go further - and I'll leave it up to you as to which are relevant :D
