I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer. Can anyone tell me how to install Firefox browser and how to use it to the exclusion of Internet Explorer 9? Thank you. Harri

Download, install and set as default ....

    Control Panel > Default Programs

although Firefox should ask if it is to be default on installation.

I believe that there is a check mark (already checked) at the beginning of the installation. I do not want Firefox as default, so I uncheck the box.

I think that there is also: Menu - Options - Advanced - General - System Defaults - Always check to see if Firefox is default on start up.

Westside is correct (and what I implied in my reply) Firefox will take over browsing during install unless you uncheck the option.

For the OP I tried to keep it simple given your experience and the question you asked but all other replies are correct though not necessarily required.

    Follow the above instructions.
When finished, launch IE. It will prompt you with something like: "Internet Explorer is not your default Web browser, would you like to make it the default?" Choose "no" and also check "never show this message again ".
