While under Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, the PC can display 1280x800 on primary display and 1680x1024 on secondary display, both with High (32 bit) color quality.

But running Windows XP Mode with only primary display, the WIndows XP Mode can use 840x602 pixels and Medum (16 bit) only. Why?

    No idea.

Just increase the size of the Windows XP Mode window.

AFAIK Windows XP mode uses a standard Windows graphics driver - not the driver in Win 7.

The screen resolution will depend on your Win 7 resolution .....

My main monitor runs 1600 x 1200 natively and XP mode - on the same monitor, at 1280 x 1024 with no adjustment possible.

If you want a higher resolution try moving the XP mode window to your second monitor or switch displays and use the 1680 x 1024 as the primary monitor.
