Is there any way I can get video from my digital camcorder (digital tape) into my computer to edit in Windows Movie Maker or other software? The user manual syas I need a computer equipped with either a DV (EEE1394) terminal or a (EEE1394 captuer board), neither of wich it has, nor do I see this hardware offered in computer adverts.

Is there another way to get it in to edit or can external hardware be used the plugs into a USB port?

IEEE 1394 is a standard firewire connection. You can obtain a plug in card to provide firewire ports on your computer.

If you don't know what Pete's talking about, have a look here. There's a lot of them to choose from (three pages at this site). They aren't expensive. Which one to use? I don't know about that. You'll have to do a little research for that. Also, if you look at the very bottom of the details for each one you'll see a link that says reviews. You can click on it to see what other people who've purchaced it have to say about it. You can get a pretty good idea if it's a decent one or not if enough people have reviewed it.

Thanks Pete. I didn't notice the UK thing. Well, I guess the Newegg one serves as a pretty good example anyway.:)
