When I open up Windows Explorer, I have a tree view pane on the left, and any given folder's contents on the right. I click on a folder in my favorites (upper left corner), and then out of force of habit, I start scrolling, expecting the scrollbar on the right side to start moving down. I have to click on something on that right pane, to get the scroll bar moving.

Is there a way to get Explorer to automatically select something inside that right pane, so I can start scrolling up and down? Or is there a setting I can check to get this done?

Hi Paul. To my knowledge no, you need to select which Windows Explorer pane you want to be the active pane so your mouse wheel scrolls on the one that is active.

If you are using the navigation pane to browse through certain folders then you will need to click the mouse on the content pane to make it active so you can scroll through the data.

This behavior is by design in Windows.
