I don't know when it happened but my recycle bin icon is missing from my desktop. I went to microsoft.com and followed the directions to restore it but nothing worked. Any clues on how to get it back? Thanks

    Hi

I would say that you probably have a registry problem then. From what I have found in searching your problem there might have to be a few changes made in the registry to get your bin back. I am not to experianced in Reg Edit and would like to see a few more post from the pros here to even see if I am even on the right path. I looked up your problem and found this. Please if you are not sure about reg editing wait for some more replys from a more experianced person with the registry.

Read the link if you like and see if this might help you

    Regards,

There is a fix for the missing recycle bin problem.

Go to Kelly's Korner, scroll down to line 64 and click in the right-hand column on "Replace/Repair the Recycle Bin in Windows XP," save the file to your harddrive (remember where you saved it).

Once the vbs file is downloaded, find it, double
click it. You will be prompted when the script is done.

    Good call Miz,

I'm with Johanna on this great big wish, "oh why.. oh why and how can we get Kelly to become a member of this board "? She'd probably put us all out of a favored passtime but what wonderful learning experience that would be. :)
