With my Sony laptop the data on the screen including graphics and font is too small. Every time I log on or change pages I must go to Control + "+" to increase the size.

I would like to fix the increased size. Suggestions appreciated.

    Have you tried this ....

Right click on Desktop > Screen Resolution > Make text and other items larger or smaller > Select Medium or Larger > Apply.

I had already done this with no significant improvement.

I changed the resolution, however, down from 1920 x 1080 (recommended)

the best resolution for my screen which is 16.4" for internet surfing appears to be 1280 x 768.

although this is not the recommended setting.

this might have to be changed for movies however.

Try setting a custom font size as outlined here.

the solution prescribed on this website does not work for me.

the job is to adjust screen resolution against font size (dpi).

there is no way to get it perfect, though I do not have this problem with the CRT screen which is more square on my PC using XP.

I am guessing most settings will work better on a square screen than a rectangular one.

I have found that a resolution of 1280 by 768 using a font dpi of 150% is satisfactory.

With Google Chrome it is satisfactory, but when I open Firefox the page is too small. Then when I open this forum on chrome, everything is way too big. But with the same settings, this page is ok on Firefox. Different browsers react differently.

There is apparently no standardization between browsers, and there is a difference between how these settings affect Windows versus the internet.
