I have email addresses in a specific group which I'd like to export via email to all the addressees in that group....in a way which will allow each recipient to 'import' those addresses into their OE address book, without having to key in everyone's data.

Is this possible and if so, how? I know I can export my entire address book but I only wish to export one group within my address book, not the entire address book. And, of course, I'd like to make importing that file as easy for each recipient as possible.

    Can anyone help?

Use the group file in to "to" line of an email advising them to click "reply all" and then close the email without saving. Since OE ticks "include those I reply to in my address book" by default,, almost all of your group will immediately have all the email addresses.

I don't know a way to import just a folder from the WAB, but there should be a way. I hope someone who knows posts it, because it would be very handy when we set up new committees at work, church, clubs etc... Miz? Ann? Daizy? I am curious, too.

Another possible workaround- go to Yahoo and start a group. Mail to the group can be read on the server or forwarded to each user's specified email account. The group can also store files and folders to share on the Yahoo servers, but they can chat in real time. You can make it a public or private group, and the moderator has the option to approve all group emails, if necessary.

I've never found a way to export or import an OE group intact. It'll both export and import the group name but the group will be empty. (I learned that the hard way. Imagine my surprise. *sigh*)

I haven't given up the quest, though, so if I ever find the answer, I'll post it.

I did figure out a workaround for Outlook, though (I have Outlook 2000 but it should work with other versions).

Just make a new folder under Contacts, copy all the entries you want in that group into that folder from the main Contacts folder, then export the group folder into a csv (comma separated values) files. Both OE and Outlook can import that format.
