hello, any idea can erase "Start" -> "Run" ...that ComboBox/TextBox record?

is use "start" -> "program" -> "assc" -> "command point only (cmd) "
    and enter "start regedit" ?

    Please!

    Hello visee,

    Download/Install System Security Suite: http://www.igorshpak.net/

In the Items to clear tab > My Computer section > check "Run (Menu)" > click Clear Selected Items.

No indication that anything happens, that's the way the program works. You have to check the results for yourself.

    Regards - Charles

In addition and as an alternate method:

    TO CLEAN "RUN" HISTORY MENU
Go to Run and type Regedit (enter)
    Navigate to the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
In the right pane you will see all the items that are listed in your Run menu. Simply delete
    them and reboot. (Leave default)

Thanks surferdude.... works good but what are all those other places in there? I deleted the ones that show in the RUN drop down box and just left 2 that I want to keep but in the hkey panel there are a bunch of others that don't show in the dropdown. Wonder what they are and can I delete them?

Yes, you can feel free to delete any value string in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU key. XP will not permit you to delete the default value string.

It will however allow you to delete the entire key since it will be recreated when you close Regedit.

Remember, logoff is required to show full effect. Reboot will also work of course.

As always, export the key before doing the deed so as to cover the possibility that you have selected the wrong key. :) It happens.

    All the best.
