is there a tool to use to customize the Outlook bar in Outlook Express? I need text shortcuts, with no images, to save space (in small icons setting).
Does anyone khow how to do such thing? in registry or elsewhere?

If it's the Outlook Bar you want to customize, just right click anywhere on it and add folders as you need them...as well as delete the ones you don't. Open the Folders list to drag any existing folders you want to include over to the Outlook Bar.

If it's Outlook's toolbar you want to customize, go to View>Layout>Customize toolbar button to add and remove whichever buttons you like.

thanks, but your 2 basic suggestions do not apply to my question.
As I said, I want to have the outlook BAR shortcuts WITHOUT images. I need to loose the images.
    Anyone knows how to?

I know of no way to lose the images but I suppose you could shorten the name of each item to one or two letters and then drag the divider to the left to make the outlook bar as small as possible.

Or you could get rid of the outlook bar completely, using the folder bar instead, which puts a horizontal bar above the messages allowing you to access the different folders.

Finally, if it's space to read messages you want, disable the preview pane...which is a good idea anyway...and double click on the headers to open the messages. Drag the message window to full size so all subsequent message windows will open maximized.
