I would like to make a cd that is bootable.

I want it to work exactly like a bootable floppy. That is from power down, insert the cd and boot.

I then want to go to the CD Rom drive letter and type fdisk or format or whatever.

I know that computers are being sold without floppy drives and I wonder how these actions are performed without a floppy drive.

I have Nero software and it makes very nice bootable CD.

I was going to make one that I could add other things ( like Norton Software for DOS ) to it but just have not done it.

It is exactly the same as Win98 ( from which it was made ) Startup disk.

So I assume that it would make one suitable for the existing OS.

The only thing that sort of worried me a little at first was the fact that I get the a boot failure message everytime I boot the machine.

But that is only due to the fact that I have the BIOS set to A:, CDROM, C:.

And believe me it seems to be MUCH MORE reliable than the 3.5 Floppy.

I have been at that site all morning and my head still hurts.:)

I have Click and Burn and can't find a place to make bootable CD. I bought this one day and the next I heard about Nero being better. I understand Easy Cd Creator will also do it. I'm feeling snake bit...Last week I bought a microwave oven for $97 and this week it's selling for $79.

When you created your bootable CD, did you copy a boot disk to it so you can run fdisk etc.? I found some instructions for doing that but the first requirement was to make a bootable CD with my software which, so far, seems to be impossible.
