I tried to communicate with Microsoft Help Web site. Each time, I am refused entry as E-mail address that I signed up with years ago is no longer current with me. I have tried many times to change address to current in use, refused each attempt. What is the procedure to contact Microsoft directly to change E-mail address? as normal procedure has failed. Anyone had this difficulty and how you managed to succeed. Thanks Bobby.

I can not open a new account with Microsoft as it just refers to my old E-mail address that is defunct.

How to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account

You may want to change the email address for your Microsoft account if you no longer have access to that email account. Follow the steps on this page to change the email address.
    Notes

    • You'll need to know the password for your Microsoft account to change the email address. If you don't know the password or need to reset it, see Find your Microsoft account email address or password.
    • You may not have to change the email address that you use to sign in to your Microsoft account even if you can't access that email account. As long as you still know the password and security contact information for your Microsoft account, you'll always be able to access the Microsoft account.

Change the email address you use to sign in to your Microsoft account

    Here's how:

    1. At account.live.com, sign in to your Microsoft account. Because of the sensitive nature of changing your alias, you'll be prompted to enter a code that we sent to one of your security contact methods so that we know the request is coming from you.
    2. In the navigation bar, click or tap Aliases under "Account.â€
    3. Under "Account alias," click or tap Add alias.

    1. You'll have the option to create a new Outlook.com email address or add an existing email address to use as a Microsoft account alias:

      • If you want to create a new email address and add it as your alias, enter the address and then click or tap Add alias.
      • If you want to add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias, you'll be required to verify that you own the account. You'll receive an email from the Microsoft account team at the email address that you want to add.
        • If you receive this email: Open the email and click the link provided to verify that you own the account.
        • If you don't receive this email:
          1. Sign in at account.live.com.
          2. Under "Account," click or tap Aliases.
          3. Next to the email address that you added, click or tap Verify.
          4. Follow the prompts to verify the email address.
After you've added the existing email address that you want to use, click or tap Add alias.
Note You can't add existing @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com addresses as aliases. You can create an alias using an existing email address from another provider, such as Gmail, Yahoo! Plus, or AIM Mail. You can't use an email address that you previously used to create a Microsoft account.

    1. Set the new email address as the primary alias. After you do this, the new email address is displayed as your Microsoft account alias when you sign in to all devices and services. Here's how:
      1. Sign in at account.live.com.
      2. Under "Account alias," click or tap aliases.
      3. Click or tap Make primary under the alias you want as your primary.
    2. Remove the old email address you no longer want to use. Here's how:
      1. Sign in at account.live.com.
      2. Under "Account alias," select aliases.
      3. Click or tap Remove under the alias.
      4. Click or tap Remove alias. Note It can take up to 48 hours for the change to your email address to be implemented on all Microsoft services. If you sign in to your Microsoft account on an Xbox One console by using your Kinect sensor, you might temporarily be asked to sign in with a controller. If after two days you're still being asked to manually sign in, try removing your profile from the console and then adding it back to your console. (For help, see Manage gamertag & profile.)
If you can’t add an email address as an alias because it's already being used for an existing Microsoft account, you'll need to use your Xbox console to change the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox Live profile. For detailed instructions, see How to change the Microsoft account email address associated with Xbox Live.
    Notes

    • To cancel an Xbox Live or Xbox Music membership, or to no longer be billed for your membership, go to xbox.com/account, sign in to the account that you need to manage. Then, follow the prompts to turn off auto-renewal.
    • To remove a payment option, go to xbox.com/account, sign in to the account that you need to manage. Then, follow the prompts to remove the payment option.

I logged on Microsoft Chat line relating to this topic. The chat started at 7pm and by 9.30pm the Chat terminated with a promise that all would be sorted within 72 hours. This episode has been going on for over two weeks and no further forward than day one, just to have my IPS changed when taken over by another IPS some ten years ago. Someone said, to open a bank account was the most complicated experience, well they should try to change a Microsoft User address.
