I have had three email accounts in the last year, and they are all running into each other.I am driving myself crazy. I'd like to make my ISP my default and then be able to use OE for my email.

I know this is easy to do, but I can't seem to make it happen. I know I have to find out where the "SMTP" (or something like that) lives, and it is eluding me.

I am running Windows Vista with Outlook Explorer. I don't seem to have the OE program in my computer...

    I don't think I'm following you.

In OE->Tools->ACCOUNTS are there three accounts listed there? If so - hightlight one and click the "Set Default" button.

There is nothing about Outook Express on my computer. I think it was all deleted.

I had a Gmail account, which all of a sudden just quit working.
So, I set up an AOL email address. But when I forward photos, the email address that goes with the pictures is my old Gmail address, not my current AOL address. I have canceled Gmail entirely. I want to set up a Time-Warner (Roadrunner) account, as that is my current ISP.

I also have a separate FastMail account for commercial purposes. Too confusing!

I think I need to do something where the SMTP is. The FastMail account is not a problem. I just want to set up a different default email address.

I'm not sure with Outlook Explorer is...But Now I see your running Vsita thaty does not come with Outlook Express. However - it does come with Windows Mail that is almost like OE. You should be able to use it to do emails.

Most likely you are using your Web browser (Internet Explorer) to access your email accounts via a web based interface.

If you want to access your email from a program on your computer you'll need an email client, and then check with your various email providers what settings thy require to retrieve your email from their server.

Sorry for the time lapse as well as the confusing terms I've been using.

I just realized that Vista doesn't have Outlook Express. It's now called Windows Mail, so no wonder I was looking for the wrong thing. With the help of a friend, I was able to set up Windows Mail with Roadrunner (my ISP) as my default mail.

Thank y'all for replying to my plea for help. When I signed up as a beginner, I wasn't kidding! You have all been very patient.
