[How to boot to Windows 7 *after* installing Windows XP]

    i have both Windows Xp and 7 install in computer how can i boot my windows 7 OS??

    Hi Rolltor, I think it might pay to include further detail: What version of Windows7? Was it an upgrade version? How did you install it? A moderator will probably get to view this and be of further assistance. Have you filled in system info as this helps with trouble shooting. Neil.;)

    If you want to dual boot XP and Windows 7 each should be installed on a separate partition with XP installed first - a boot menu should be created giving you the option of which OS to boot to.

    EasyBCD is handy for setting the default OS rather than using Bcedit.

    As Neil posted - more detail is essential.

    i have windows 7 Build 7600 and i do have two different partions.I Installed 7 but after that i wanted to installed windows xp back because windows seven doesnt support some software i wanted use so i put xp back in a different partion but i also want to keep windows 7 . so now i have my current OS running with XP and i dont know how to boot up Windows 7 whenever i want to

    You will need to create a bootloader - see ......

    Install Windows XP in Dual Boot with Pre-Installed Windows 7
    If you are running Win 7 Pro or above you can use, as I do, Windows XP Mode in which you run a copy of XP Pro, included in the free download from MS, in a virtual machine.

    Alternatively you can install Microsoft VM and install your copy of XP in the VM.
