Even if Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgrade is free, I am not going to use it. My last Windows 7 desktop at home will retire in a few months. By then, I'll get Mountain Lion on another new notebook, and may transfer the while Windows 7 environment and licenses to its VM, only to read the archives. I suggest Microsoft to give a 120% cash rebate coupon to attract consumers to use Windows 8. I'm serious.

I loved Win XP Pro and now I love Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm thinking of getting Macbook Pro. just to learn how to repair the hardware and the OS software that is all.

my system is quick enuff, i7 at 2.93ghz, 16gb ram, 1.5RB hd space.

I use windows because it runs the software I want to use, and nothing else does.

There will be NOBODY with a gun to anybodys head forcing them to buy anything. So far here in the USA, it is our choice to buy or not to buy. Bet that they have MAC's in the same store also. I won't buy a MAC.

Windows 8 is not good enough and frankly gets lost. But, it's not fair to those people who spent a lot of effort to make Windows a better one, by saying that it's a "Junk ". But right now, the direction of Microsoft and Windows are not on the right track. As a long term user of it, I give my voice to criticize it, hoping it back on track. I still like CHKDSK and REPLACE commands from MS-DOS. OS X Mountain Lion just can't do it this way. Having said that, I would expect more intelligent from its file systems and especially the assistive/automatic disaster recovery.

As a kind of support, I paid $30 to get the Mountain Lion upgrade on Mac, I am prepared to pay $35 to get Windows 8 as a virtual macine on the Mac as well. (Of course, the overhead will be a Fusion 4.1.3, $69). Having said, that, I don't expect to see the price segmentation of something like basic, home premium, professional, ultimate etc again. And Windows Activiation no more please.

    Hi IvanH,

Thanks, yes, that site is hilarious. I was LMAO when I first saw it. I wonder if there is a situation of copyright infringement? Perhaps new Windows should be renamed, Windows 8 - Kids Only.
