I started a thread in the Test Post forum, to act as a place to save a rough draft, and allow me to make changes as I saw fit.

This isn't a complaint---I'd just like to know for the information--but after, I dunno, 10 or more edits being saved, I noticed that even after being logged in, I was no longer able to edit the post. Was that only b/c someone else replied? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I was still able to edit my post even after I got a reply. At any rate, in that first post, I can no longer see the Edit option.

If I know how many edits I can make, I can keep a rough track of the number of times, and then copy and paste the text and the code into another post in this thread, and hopefully keep all the vbulletin formatting as well.

I don't think that the "Test Posts" section is intended for editing your own posts prior to posting them to the correct forum. I suggest doing that in a word editor ... ;) ... out of sight from everyone else.

It's not the number of times...it's the amount of time from when you first create a post to a certain point. Only Arie can tell us what that time limit is.

Many sites I admin are set to fifteen minutes.

Both of your replies make a lot of sense. I'll just do any future editing here on my laptop. That's typically what I do anyways, if my post is lengthy. Guess I got carried away with making changes.

I appreciate the work on your article. Personally, I hate the new look of Firefox, and I know there will be a firestorm of resistance against the new UI, but at least it's comforting to know that I can use addons to make the new UI look like the Firefox of old.

Seems like the edit window, here, is open for about 2 to 3 days from my experience, which is generous compared to some forums I've visited.
