    I googled this but all I got was involved instructions and most of them said they didn't work.

    In IE you just right click and select Create Shortcut.

    Isn't there an easy way to do this in Chrome?

    Syware Dr,

    Thanks but I'm confused on the first step once I'm on a web page that I want to place a desktop shortcut for:

    What is the first step?

    1) Copy the URL of the web page. (Highlight it then press [Ctrl][C]).

    2) Go to your Desktop, right-click your Chrome icon and while continuing to hold the right mouse button down, drag the mouse pointer over a bit, let go of the right mouse button and then select Create Shortcut.

    3) Right-click that new shortcut and select Properties.

    4) Go the very end of the line in the Target box, add a single space to the end of the line, then type in --app= and then press [Ctrl][V] to paste in the URL you copied above [in Step 1] immediately after that =.

    5) Click Apply > OK.

    6) Right-click your new shortcut and rename it to something other than "Chrome(2) ". (Preferably the name of the website page).

    Spyware Dr,

    Thanks for your patience but after trying it multiple times on 2 different computers (Win7x64 Pro):

    Here's the original target before pasting:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe "

    Here's the Start In: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application "

    Here's the target of the new shortcut after pasting (the Apply and OK work fine):
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" app=http://dictionary.reference.com/

    Here's the actual website that it tries to open:
    http://app=http//dictionary.reference.com/

    Here's the error message:
    "This webpage is not available ..... The server at app%3Dhttp can't be found because the DNS lookup failed.... "

    The actual target of the shortcut is still reading correctly w/o the %3D

    I don't know where the %3D is coming from??

    Like this:

    Code:
    [color=white].[/color]

    [b][color=green] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe "[/color] [color=red]--app=[/color][color=blue]http://dictionary.reference.com/[/color][/b]

    [color=white].[/color]

    Green is the complete path to your Chrome.exe file
    Red is a space and then these six inserted characters: --app=
    (A space " ", then an "a ", then a "p ", then another "p" and then a "= ")
    And Blue is the website's URL: http://dictionary.reference.com/

    All Webpage URLs in the address bar have an icon preceding the URL. Just go the the desired Webpage & drag the icon to the Desktop and a shortcut to the page will get created.
