I got my new disc of WORD 2007. I see all kinds of words misspelled. I can't find spell check anywhere.

I look on the internet and don't see the box to check. I read to hit F7, it brings up that spell check is complete, but all the words are still misspelled.

I see a box checked with, "Hide spelling errors in this document only" but it's greyed out.

How is it possible that MS would put out a Word Processor and not have a spell checker? I find this amazing.

No matter how good Microsoft is, this trumps anything good about them. You put out word without a spell checker that works.

    Chris.

P.S. I did find one way, by cutting and pasting to OpenOffice and spell checking there, then paste it back to Word. There has to be a better way.

Maybe 'Proofing Tools" didn't get installed when you installed WORD? Get your disc and see if it's installed.

OK, I checked, and that's what was wrong. When you install WORD from Office, the "tools" are a separate thing to install.

I went back and installed it, now I have spell checker.

One thing I would like to change is, I want to have the red line under a misspelled word. Noting happens until I click 'Spell Check"
How do I get it to underline as I type a misspelled word?

    Chris.

From Word Options, click Proofing and check Check spelling as you type.

Don't see, "Check spelling as you type" anywhere.

    Thank you,
    Chris.

    Thank you for the replys,
Mine is checked but it doesn't show the red line.
When I closed the program and opened it, it now works.

Thank you Arie for the help.

    Chris.
