Hi, Can anyone steer me in the right direction. I would like to know if anyone has come across a website that describes in detail the logging on process to a home WIFI connection. And what happens when you hit repair in the network icon. How does the computer access the internet through TCP/IP and the purpose of DNS, WINS, etc. I use Windows XP Proffessional and a Dynalink RTA1025W wireless router. How operating at a Cafe internet with your laptop works. Really the whole networking process. A big ask I know!!!

Google can be your friend. There are a lots of websites which have the info you are looking for but I don't have a list of those offhand.

A quick search threw up these What is WiFi?, WINS,DHCP,DNS.
