Ok for some stupid reason I tried to update my via 4in1 drivers to the latest (hyperion 4.51). Now I'm having some stability issues. I know they're related cause they started immediately after I installed the drivers. Most websites I visit tell me to re-run the install exe and just select uninstall. I've tried it and I also tried to install/uninstall 4.43 and 4.35.

    1. How can I uninstall the drivers manually? I deleted the via bus master ide controller in device manager\IDE ata/atapi controllers\via busmaster ide controller but it reverted back to the new ones

    2. There's an registry entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Via4in1driver which looks like it's pointing to the new driver is it ok to delete this? I don't want to make the problem worse...

    3. Can someone with the same mobo tell me what via driver version the windows default is?
    Mine are:
    device manager\IDE ata/atapi controllers\via busmaster ide controller 5.1.2600.1106
device manager\system devices\via cpu to agp controller 5.1.2600.0
device manager\system devices\via cpu to pci controller 5.1.2600.0
device manager\system devices\via cpu to isa controller 5.1.2600.0

I think the 5.1.2600.0 are the windows default but the busmaster seems not to want to go back

I'm running windows XP my mobo is epox 8kha+ which makes it a via kt266a chipset. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi TicK
I see you asked for help here too, but no solution was posted. Did you ever figure this one out?
I wonder if you can find anything here?

The information you got re: re-running the Hyperion 4 in 1 driver installation and de-selecting all is correct but you may also need to download individual (not the 4 in 1 rollup) drivers from here and then install them one by one after going to device manager and selecting update drivers, then navigating to your replacement file location and selecting the correct replacement driver you want to pull from.

Here's exactly where you'll find em' Presto

    ;)
