    Feel free to laugh.

I crashed and recovered with Vista Business by mistake.
    Then with Vista Home Basic.

    Now I have both installed.
How do I remove the Business copy.

I can see it but can't figure out how to delete it.

    Thank you in advance
    Losille.

    I hope this will help.

It is not quite as simple as just deleting the folder. As you can see, it is listed in the Boot Loader, so you might take away the folder and then the Boot Loader can't find the second operating system.

If you break the boot system Windows might not start up.

I have not done anything similar with Vista. The one and ONLY time I set up a dual-boot, when I wanted to remove one of the operating systems, it was so "iffy" I vowed never to set one up again.

Don't worry, I am certainly not laughing about it. I wish I could give you some instructions. If I was to try, I think I would rename the second Windows, then boot to the Vista installation DVD and run a Startup Repair. As I said though, that is only speculation, it might work like a dream or could be just as problematic. Fooling around with the boot system is not for faint-hearted, at least in the old days.

    Matt

lol All the references I have seen on the net about two versions was done on purpose and correctly.
I have been thinking about reformatting and starting over.

I will try your instructions and let you know how what happens

I got rid of it almost by accident.
    MSCONFIG
    BCDEDIT.EXE
The window opened I could delete the other program. I don't think I was breathing when I did a reboot.

Well done researching that. Thanks for the feedback. Mark your thread Resolved if it has worked (it is in the Thread Tools).
