stevo - Hi - and Welcome to the Board :)

Patience, please - can understand your frustration, but please realise that we are all volunteers. Some visit the Board once a week, some once a day and others more often. And please remember the time differences around the world - my avatar shows my location. While you have been fretting - I have been sleeping :D

    To your problem.......

Why? Is there a problem there too?

You need your floppy drive to boot from a start up disk with CD- Rom support to enable you to install W98 from the CD

Alternatively your Win 98 CD may be bootable - to check this out go into the BIOS on boot up - hit F1 or Delete as soon as the initial POST screen appears with the default beep and set the boot order to CD/Floppy/Hard drive. Save and exit the BIOS. Shut down the PC

Place the Win 98 in the CD drive and reboot - watch the screen - you should see ' Hit any key to boot from CD' - do so and follow the on screen instructions.

Post back if any problems, but remember - the Board is not a source of instant online support. There are many experts here and we would hope to get you up and running as quickly as possible.

What exactly do you do here ?
Put the Win Install CD in the drive and reboot the PC ?
If, as Pete suggests, you have a bootable CD (lucky you !)
and the CD drive is eg D:
    Type
    D:\setup.exe
    or
dir D: /p to find out what folders are on the CD
and if you think Windows setup is there in eg D:\WinSE
    type
    D:\WinSE\setup.exe
    regards

When you choose to boot from the cd the next menu will give you the option to Install windows.

On future reboots DURING the install, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE KYB, Just because it offeres a menu DOES NOT mean you Need to make a choice. - Let it go on its own.
