Just set up a new HD, and the music from the iTunes folder didn't translate properly. Some titles are now just #'s w/out an artist. It would take days to sort all this (230 GB's of music). So I'm wondering about copying from the old HD (still intact) to the new.
    What's the quickest way?

    Thx Mike,
Unfortunately when I have both drives hooked up it boots to the old drive, even when I swap the cables.
I let iTunes import the music it found on the HD, but that turned into a mess. It appears that every file that I've altered (I do a lot of editing, or simply changing the album name), winds up w/ no name and I have to manually list the right title, artist, etc - which takes way too much time.
Not sure what to do now.

Sorry that didn't help. iTunes drives me crazy. I'm still trying to figure out how to get it back on my Win 7 system after I tried to update it. If your iPod is big enough, supposedly, you can use it to transfer everything over to the new drive. I'm not sure if it would work for you, but Apple says it does. Here's the link.

No problem Mike - we can only try.
Much of what Apple says is theoretical and fine on paper.
    I've stuck w/ iTunes 7.6.0.29
When I went to newer versions there was always an issue.
Thx for trying and take care.
    Chas
