in the good old days, when I had Netscape 6, the fix shown here http://www.ufaq.org/commonly/msngr_start.html worked just fine. I edited the prefs.js file using Notepad, and all was well.

I tried the same thing for Netscape 7, and it made not a scrap of difference - all I want to see when I open Messenger is a blank page where the body of each Email gets displayed.

Or "Is it me?" to coin a phrase!!!

    cheers my dears - richard

    Welcome to the Forum, Kiteman!

    Hi Richard,

Things that drive you crazy, right? There is a setting in Preferences now, that will remove the annoying "Welcome" letter:

    Edit| Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups
Scroll down to: Mail Start Page
Disable: When Mail launches, show the Start Page in the message area.

    FYI:
    Netscape 7.xx - Mail & Newsgroups
    Netscape Communicator - Messenger

Let us know if you continue to have problems.

    Ramona :D
