One of my drives will go directly from sleep mode to whatever was open, but the other has to go through a log in. How do I set them to go direct?
Win 7 64 Pro - has to resign in.
Win 7 Home Premium - goes direct.

Look in the power options and disable password required.

Steve, I don't have a password on it. When I start it back up I have to click on a user (me), even though there are no other users on the computer.

If the "Password required" is checked in Power Options, even if there's no password on the account, it will go to the login screen when waking up. At least, that's been my experience.

Went to Power options, but was unable to change the password section. It was grayed out.

There should be a sentence you can click on to let you change the password option. Something like "Change settings that are currently unavailable. "

Correction, the computer comes back "locked" which requires clicking on my icon. It also gives the option to switch users. I want to bypass all this.

    I had the same problem.

Try this. Go into "Power Options" in your Control Panel. Find where it says "Require a password on wakeup." Click on it. Then click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable."

When the options about passwords are no longer grayed out, click on the button that says "Require a password (recommended)." Then click on the button that says "Don't require a password." Then click on the button that says "Save changes."

That should solve the problem. Only trouble is that the problem will probably recur, and require the same solution. I get this problem every time I change my laptop screen to be dimmer. There's some sort of bug in this Power Options setup.

Added note: You will probably find that the "Don't require a password" button is already selected. Even so, your computer is looking for a password. So click on the other button, and then back on the "Don't require a password" button, and it will no longer look for a password.

In Windows 7 the sequence is a bit different. Type power in the Start Search box, and the 1st item under the heading Control Panel will be Power Options. Click it. On the left side, click the 2nd item Require a password on wakeup.

Under Password protection on wakeup, you'll see Change settings that are currently unavailable.... click it and change to Don't require a password
