My friend's PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) does not have Internet Explorer or Internet Explorer 64 bit listed in the All Programs. How do I get these items to display for her?

(There is an I.E. icon on the taskbar that is functional)

Hi Alicia. On your friend's PC copy the Internet Explorer shortcut on the taskbar. Then click Start< Computer and navigate to the following directory:

    C:\Users\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Paste the shortcut under that path in the programs folder and the shortcut will now show up in the All Programs area of the Start Menu.

How do I copy it Evan? When I R click on I.E. icon on taskbar there is no copy option. Also this path C:\Users\All Users only shows a Start Menu folder with an arrow that can't be accessed.

Try dragging the IE shortcut onto the desktop and then see if you can copy it that way.

Also it looks like you don't have permission to access that folder so you need to take ownership of it. For instructions on how to do that take a look here, How to Take Ownership of an Item in Vista and Windows 7.

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer.

In that folder, right click on iexplore.exe and on the menu that opens, left click "Pin to Start Menu. "

Thank you Evan and Miz for your replies. I don't have direct access to my friends computer anymore but I think Miz option of pinning to the Start menu might be the easiest to explain over the phone. Thank you.

Yeah. Miz's way of pinning the shortcut to the start menu is actually easier than my method. If you are talking with your friend over the phone that that is the method you should use.
