I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer. How can I get a large screen up when I click an icon or website without having to click that little box on the upper right of the screen? Thank you. Harri

Go to the top Left and the cursor will change to a double arrow. Left click and hold it and drag it to the top left of the monitor. Then go to the bottom Right and drag it to the bottom of the mointor. You should have a full screen now. Then exit out and the next time you open up "that" program, it will be full screen. This has worked this way since I know Win 98. Didn't fool with 95 much so don't know if it did it there also.

To Mr Bill: I did every thing you said. Then when I exited and opened that program it reverted back to the small screen. Please help. Thank you. Harri

Right click shortcut icon and select properties. From there choose or set the option to "open maximized ".

or winkey and up arrow, then either x out or use file>exit from the menu bar.

I have never had this to fail. Probably did it on over a hundred computers. Don't know what you are doing wrong.

Try this. Drag it full screen then instead of using the red X to exit, go to File/Exit and see if that does it.

I have used this little applet on both XP & 7 (passed on Vista) with all versions of IE up to IE 9 - works a treat :)

To goddez1: I right-clicked the icon, selected properties but I did not see the words “open maximized” or winkey or up arrow. Please help. Thank you. Harri

See screenshot - select Maximised from the dropdown list and click on Apply. Applies to all desktop shortcut icons.

To PeteC: When I attempted to download "Windows Maximizer ", a screen came up stating “This type of file could harm your computer”. This scared me. Harri

I just downloaded the file & don't see that message - it is a Windows generic warning for file downloads Windows does not recognise.

The file is safe - download it and have your AV check it before running it (right click on the file - scan with (your av here) - for your own peace of mind :)

To PeteC; I don’t see the words "Thread Tools" anywhere on the screen. I see other words on top but not those words. Harri
