    It appears I've been blacklisted by comcast.net, and in order to have myself removed from their no-no list, I have to get in touch with them and include my mail server's IP address. I don't have a clue how to find out what it is - would someone please instruct me?
    Also, I've gotten a couple of spam-mails "bounced" back to me as undeliverable (both from Brazil!), except I never sent the missives in the first place. Is there someone/somewhere I can report this to (my ISP, for one, I imagine)? Am I pretty much doomed now that my address is already being used for spam purposes by sources unknown?
    Thanks!

    Found my own answer to the IP address question: http://www.whatismyip.com/ gives you the info.
    Should've googled first - sorry!

    MANY viruses infect your pc and steal your address book. They then send out more viruses that look like they came from you.

    MANY viruses will infect a Friends pc and ramdomly pick an address (like yours) and send out mail.

    To find email server ip address if use an email program like Outlook:
    Email programs have Acount's settings and within those will be the names of incoming and ouitgoing mail servers. What Comcast is looking for is your Outgoing mail Server address. Once you locate the name of the outgoing mail server do this;
    1. open a command window, in xp it's Start button/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt

    2. in the command window type this:

    ping Name_Of_Your_Outgoing_Mail_Server_As_Seen_In_Mail_Program

    results example:

    C:\Documents and Settings\TonyT>ping smtp.east.cox.net

    Pinging smtp.east.cox.net [68.1.17.4] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 68.1.17.4: bytes=32 time=29ms TTL=245
    Reply from 68.1.17.4: bytes=32 time=29ms TTL=245
    Reply from 68.1.17.4: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=245
    Reply from 68.1.17.4: bytes=32 time=28ms TTL=245

    Ping statistics for 68.1.17.4:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 28ms, Maximum = 30ms, Average = 29ms

    68.1.17.4 is the ip address of my outgoing email server
