    jazzbo Hi

First thing if you have a popup blocker turn it off,,,temporaraly.

You can start by telling us what operating system you have ?

This is the way I have it set up:
tools internet options --security highlight the earth gloab
    hit the [default level] button
    hit the [custom level]

    start at the top
    activex control's and plugins
    [X] enable: download etc etc
    [X] disable
    [X] disable
    [X]enable
    [X]enable

    downloads[X] enable[X] enable

Microsoft VM DO you have this?
    medium or high, safety level

    miscellaneuos
    [X] enable
    [X] enable
    [X] prompt
    [X] enable
    [X]prompt
    [X] prompt or disable

launching programs and files in an Iframe
    [X] prompt
    [X] enable
    [X] enable
    [X] medium safety
    [X] enable
    [X]enable

    Scripting all three enabled
Hit OK and yes if prompted are you sure.

privacy tab: set slider in the middle, to trouble shoot if you have problems with a web site set to max, or over-ride hit advanced
    [X] override autoetc etc
    first party cookies [X]accept
    [X] always allow session cokies
    [X] block third party cookies
    OK and ok again

If you still have strange problems with a site

copy its address go back to privacy tab hit [edit] and paste or type it in --click allow and OK --some site wont work unless we accept third party cookies and even setting the slider to max wont help..

tools internet options content tab, dont touch the content adviser!
use the publishers button any in there you are not sure about remove them,ie someone you've never heard of better yet ask others if they have it before removeing.
Be sure to go away from that site then go back,(or try refresh) for the changes to take affect.

    Programs tab
    [reset web settings] push
    [X] internet explorer etc etc
    apply

    advanced tab hit [restore defaults]
    [X] disable script debugging
[ ] display a notifacation about every script error
[ ] enable install on demand (other)
[ ] reuse windows for launching shotrtcuts

to trouble shoot secure site access
    check all three
    [X] use SSL 2.0
    [X]Use SSL 3
[X] use TSL 1.0 I leave all three checked

    Apply and OK again

believe it or not these basics are what most ofton helps.>
do this before connecting from a fresh startup
Go back to the first page of internet options delete files and mark the pop=up to delete offline content to,,, [clear history]
once or twice a week, I detete cookies every week or two also.

have you trimmend you startups ?

if all else fails post the site here --see if others have the same problem. and give us the IE version details-help about-and you're os

and you could ask them also--webmaster

This article describes the changes to the security settings for the Web content zones in Internet Explorer 6.
