    An annoying problem:

I have a broadband cable connection through a wireless router. My PC is connected by a cable to the router, and from there to the net. (I am using Win XP home and Netscape 7.2)

I have a "dialer" on the PC to connect me to the ISP, which I no longer use now that I have a router which is connected to the ISP.

Lately, on a few sites (nytimes.com, mainly) when I try to get in, the "dialer" window will pop-up, and the site won't load, until I press "cancel" on the "dialer" window, and then everything is OK. (This occurs on IE as well.)

It's very annoying, and I figure there must be a setting in Netscape that will disable the "dialer" popup. Does anyone know what it is? I looked in "Preferences" and couldn't find it.

I don't want to remove the "dialer" entirely, in case the router stops working (it happens!) and I have to connect to the net directly, just disable it.

    xelaw,

That is a Windows problem, not Netscape. To disable the dialer:
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Connections
Select "Never dial a connection "

Let us know if you continue to have problems.
