I would like to have Windows Explorer open with a particular presentation being effected always.

For example, I would like to have it present its display with no drives being expanded.

Let us say I have minpulated the Windows Explorer display to be just as I want it. How can I arrange things such that when I click on the Windows Explorer icon that particular display is produced on the monitor at its start?

I looked into this matter and used your suggestions. For those following the thread I accomplished what I wanted by doing the following:
By partitioning I created a minimum memory, dummy drive Z, on one of my disks. I then right clicked on WINDOWS EXPLORER
and entered on the TARGET LINE
    %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,Z:
Since Z is empty, in effect it lists all my drives on the left side. The right side is essentially empty. The Z drive, of course is highlighted. But now you can start anywhere you want without having to close down expanded folders or drives.

The simpler way to achieve a similar end point is target ......

    %SystemRoot%\explorer.scf

C:\ is expanded, but all drives are shown.
