I confess to a computer tantrum yesterday when I binned Real Player from my system.
I don't want it in my start up menu, so I removed it from 'processes' in windows task manager, but just as soon as I re-open real player it re-insinuates itself.
I think the scheduling files are located in ...program files/common files/real, so does anyone know if those (or any other) files can be customized to make this programme work the way I want as opposed to the other way round.
I suppose the obvious answer is to bin it completely as I did yesterday, unfortunately I found I need it for other programmes to work.
I seem to remember seeing similar posts about this on the internet before I came to BBS, so I'm pretty sure that others are having the same problem.

Re my above post, I've mentioned the schedule files stored in 'common files'.
I mentioned them above because I thought I could solve the problem by simply removing the scheduling files (I found the location because I'm using 'Win Patrol' and it showed the location on the pop up every time real schedule tried to re-insert itself).
However, I wasnt able to delete the files in question as I got an 'Access Denied' message. In the meantime I found and installed a simple programme from 'fileshippo' called 'Unlocker' (v1.8.8) which has allowed me to delete those files and on the face of it appears to have stopped the recurrence of real schedule or the warning pop ups.
I am not posting this message to show what a smart ass I am (I get no votes for that), but to see whether anyone has an opinion on 'Unlocker' and whether or not it's one of those apparently attractive but dangerous applications with unwanted side effects.
