I recently had to format my hard drive. Even though I copied all my program files to my "D: drive and tested them to make sure they worked, now they do not. The one I miss most is MS Office, for I no longer have my CD so I cannot reinstall it. All my documents and spreadsheets were created in Office. I still have PowerPoint files that will open, and word and excel, but the program or application.exe files seem to be missing. How can I get them to wrok again, or for my C drive to recognize them? Any suggestions? HEEELLLPPP!!!

Sorry, but I think you're up the proverbial creek without a paddle. When you formatted and reinstalled your OS you destoyed all the links it had with your programs(the Registry). It requires that you reinstall the programs again. Unless of course someone knows of a way to restore the linking. I tried it once and had no success.

You can try this website and get a copy of Office 95 for $39.95

They had a copy of Office 95 Pro for $29.95 via telephone 408-327-0420 x103 a couple of weeks ago. It should work just fine for what you need. It doesn't get any less expensive for legal copies.

But if your stuff was created with later versions you still won't be able to deal with documents and such unless you can find some kind soul to save em as Off95 files and give em back to you.

Hi, sorry to hear about your problem, you might be lucky with the Win95 office suite. What I believe Newt is referring to is the backwards compatibility problem of different versions of office(ie later docs not being read by earlier versions) .You could try a MS file fix the file is called WRD97cnv.exe, and it allows 97 & 2000 docs to be read by Office 95. Get it from Microsoft if not available post back and I will send it to you.
