I have BBCi Player and ITVi Player on my computer. For non-Brits, they show programmes from the major TV companies. It is not, I think, a live feed.

There are a couple of the series shown that I would like to record for my own private collection, which in UK is quite lawful. Whilst I know that I can do it, I don't know HOW!.

I have windows XP and my specs are profiled.

Can anyone please help by telling me how I can do this and what software (if necessary) I would require.

If software is involved, is there a free programme that I can download.

Thanks Pete. I thought I'd found the answer where the bbci player facility is discussed but I can't find a direct answer to copying a programme onto a disc.
Perhaps I'm being dumb, can you tell me where I can find it?
    Thanks

It may well be Pete, but I think it has fallen out with me. One answer I got was as follows:-
"You cannot download anything from any of the online television players (BBC iPlayer, itv2 player, 4ondemand, etc). The reason being, all television programmes are copyrighted and therefore cannot be copied (downloaded) for free. To prevent people downloading from these sites, there is a built-in DRM (digital rights management) code built into them which prevents downloading. And there is nothing wrong with your Real Player. It will download videos from other sites where videos are not copyrighted. "

Can you comment at all or not or do you think that is the definitive answer. I'm sure a lot of people must be wondering how to do this.

Yes, thanks Pete, I have downloaded the BBci player desktop for that. ITV is the problem though (I've been trying to find a way to tape Foyles War). I haven't been able to find anything on that.
