I'm trying to get educated on the print spool. What got me interested in it was I had a couple of jobs in the spool when my color cartridge ran out of ink. I wanted to put a new cartridge in and test it and align it so I tried to purge the documents in the print spool.

Well, the window showing the spool said it was deleteing the job and in fact the number was reduced to 1. Now the printer is trying to print but only garbage is printed.

I unplugged the sucker to clear it's memory and rebooted the puter since I couldn't purge the document. Now when the puter booted the printer resumed printing garbage.

So I guess I need a lesson on print spoolers and maybe find out how to tell my system that when I say purge all documents I mean ALL DOCUMENTS. But, alas, we are having a communication problem..... again:p

I'm ready and willing to take direction.

    Start>>Administrative Tools>>Services.

Select Print Spooler, Right click and select Stop. This should clear your queue. Now re-start it from the right click menu.

LOL - that'll do it for sure. No way a job could survive that. And just take a couple seconds too.

    Thanks mahmud603,
The same problem in deleting the Spool cache has been bugging me a lot of late, and purging/deleting has little or no effect on a print job gone wrong.
