    I want to permanently disable auto-disconnect.
    I can go into "Internet Properties" --> "Connections" (tab)
    --> "Settings ..." --> "Advanced" and uncheck both "Disconnect if idle for ..." and "Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed" for all my possible connections, but when i go back and check (after I've been disconnected from my DSL connection) I find the boxes checked again. Does it require a reboot for the settings to take? Something else? Thanks

    With DSL you will be dealing with the LAN settings and usually (maybe always) the things you mention are associated with the dial-up settings which should have no effect at all on your DSL sessions.

    But some additional information if you are having problems:
    - does it really auto-diconnect?
    - what browser?
    - what OS on the PC?
    - USB or Network Card connection to the DSL modem?

    >>> interesting, since that's where our ISP told us to look
    >>> of course, not surprising that the problem hasn't
    >>> been resolved :)

    - does it really auto-diconnect?

    >>> i believe so. a number of times while on the system, we've
    >>> had an "auto-disconnect" pop-up, saying there's been no
    >>> activity for x amount of time ...

    - what browser?

    >>> IE 6
    >>> but we don't always have a browser window open

    - what OS on the PC?

    >>> W2K

    - USB or Network Card connection to the DSL modem?

    >>> Network card

    thanks
