When I clean my cache and cookies I lose some cookies that I want to keep. Is there a way to save some cookies permanently?

If you know which cookies to keep, try making them read-only: rt-clk on cookie>properties>mark the read-only spot and OK out. May not work if web site wishes to change the cookie.

    Hi Ron,

If you're not using a cache cleaner that would have the option to selectively "spare" cookies, then one work around would be to copy the cookies you want to keep to another folder, clean, then copy them back in. I assume these are pretty much the same cookies you want to keep over time.

    Regards - Charles

OLDSALTY--As PeteC and Steve R Jones have suggested, do not IE Tools|Internet Options|General tab (or something similar) to "Delete Cookies" but use a cookie manager. I use Cookie Jar
    http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/programs.asp?Program=Cookie Jar
I cannot say which cookie manager is better. (I suspect it is personal preference.)
The key is to not delete all cookies in the first place.
Not sure how you are cleaning your cache now. I use System Security Suite.
    http://www.igorshpak.net/
It can easily be configured to delete most of the cache but leave the cookies. Then you handle the cookies with the cookie manager.

Thank you for all the good answers. I have taken Pete's Cookie Monster as my cookie manager. It is very easy to setup and use. This will accomplish what I want. Thanks again.
