Hi , I see Arie has a post about >> Now that SP1 has been available 6 months, what are your Vista plans?

I would like to know if you had to purchase a Windows operating system and the price for both ( Windows XP Pro sp3 retail , Vista Ultimate sp1 retail ) were the same , which one would you buy and why?

Well, I consider that a moot question, since XP is no longer available for purchase (with some exceptions).

The answer would also be predictable... around 60-70% would want XP. People don't wanna change & they think Vista is "bad "... that's what they 'heard'.

My wife bought a lap top (with Vista) and she loved it so much that I went out two months ago and bought two desktops (one for her and one for me) with Vista. I then sold our older XP computers. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Love Vista.

Depends on the system that I am installing the OS on. If I were to buy Vista then I would need to build a system that could handle it.

That a good point , though it was meant with having the hardware needed to run both smoothly .

One thing I have noticed about Vista is that it does have higher hardware requirements. I have defenitly noticed a difference in speed when I was running Windows XP and now am running Windows Vista on the same computer with the same hardware specs. Vista is a bit slower on my system then when I had Windows XP. IMO both OS's are good and just like whiskey man said it all depends if you have the hardware to run Vista smoothly. Otherwise if you don't then stick with XP. ;)
