Today i put in my two new video cards in my PC and now my power supply is running very hot to the touch. Only the power supply gets warm, the bottem of the case is cool.

    My PC:
Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Heatpipes

Lite-On LH-20A1S SuperAllwrite SATA DVD Burner

    Corsair Dominator Memory Airflow Fan

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB Hard Drive

    Thermaltake Socket 775 CPU Fan

OCZ Ultra 5+ Silver Thermal Compound

    NZXT Apollo Case (sold out)

XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor

    Ultra / X-Finity / 600-Watt

    PNY XLR8 Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS SSC Video Card X2

I posted a link to everything so you can get an idea of how much power i should be using. I was told that 600WATTS was what i needed to do sli.

    Thanks

You changed from a single video card? Check the motherboard manual for if any special settings are required to be made in the BIOS for running SLI.

Check the flow of air through the case. Is a strong flow going through the PSU. If the case fan/s happen to be more powerful than the fan in the PSU, I could see a situation arising where the flow of air through the PSU could slow down or stop, because the case fans were stronger. There is a case fan at the front and one at the back, if both happen to be directing the flow out of the case, I expect the PSU fan would have no air to move.

Is there plenty of space at the back of the case for the heated air to escape?

There is a power calculator here:

Are both PSU fans running? I prefer power supplies made by Fortron and Seasonic.

I have always valued Aluvus' advice when it comes to power supplies. His site: 10 Stripe
