    HELP Please

I'm operating on MS XP at home (not shared with any other pc) I was just scanning in my recipes to save onto disk, they were saved onto a folder with the date on it in 'my pictures' I could see the saved files as I was scanning them, after I finished I copied and pasted them into another folder still in 'my pictures' so I could back them up. Then I went to open them and now I'm denied access, I've tried all the various options in the property box after right clicking on the dated saved file and the main 'recipes to save to file' folder, nothing will let me in!! and I can't rescan the recipes as the've been binned now! please Help someone!!!
