 I am having difficulty installing Home Premium. The installation gets as far as Expanding files (21%), then shuts down and restarts. However, the restart goes right back to the beginning of the installation. If I try to enter the product key again, I get the message that I have to re-install from my old application (Windows XP). And I'm having a devil of a job getting back to XP. I've tried several times and the same thing happens. I've done all the compatibility checks, and as far as I can tell I've done everything OK. Can anyone help? Many thanks in anticipation!

Could you give us a bit more information on what kind of a system this is?
Also, what kind of installation are you doing (I presume an upgrade from XP)?
Finally, what kind of Vista do you have (Upgrade or Full version)?

    Problem installing Vista

Thanks for the response, but you have pre-empted my reply. Just this afternoon, I've managed it. The problem was I think, believe it or not, part of Norton anti-virus program which I had removed from my hard drive, but was still on my removable hard drive. When I disconnected the removable drive, Vista installed OK. Thanks again for your trouble.
