    Hi
I would like to have a Hjt log to follow for a check log.
Could you look at this for any problems so I can use it to check other logs in the future.
    Thanks
    Geri

You don't seem to be getting much attention so I'll bump you back up.

I don't see any gremlins in your log. I don't especially like:

    O4 - Global Startup: Updates from HP.lnk = C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe

but it's not really bad, just invasive. HP uses it to keep tabs on your updates. I ditched it after warranty but you choose your own path, it's harmless I suppose.

Many of the other items are user optional so I won't throw rocks at them. I just don't have that many update checks and programs going on at startup. YMMV

Stick around, someone else may see something I don't.

    Thanks surferdude
I will stop many of the start ups from HP after the warranty is out.
I don't have ipod or an ipod, so that one may go sooner.
    Thanks again

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {B2847E28-5D7D-4DEB-8B67-05D28BCF79F5} - (no file)

Left over entry from an extra (missing) toolbar.....HP Explore Toolbar

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

Command to create an error dump. Did you have an application freeze that generated an error message? BSOD? System lock-up?

These are not entries you would want to see in future logs and should be removed.

I personally would remove all updater entries, except for Anti Virus. I like to know what updates will be applied to any program, so I can choose what I do and don't want to allow. You can easily do manual checks for updates. However, it's your call. ;)
