HJT Log after cleaning rootkit

I think I have the machine cleaned up now, thanks to some help fromt the sysinternals forum. I was pointed to this link which helped a lot; http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.haxdoor.e.html

The drive in this PC is formatted FAT32, so I booted with an old Win98 startup disk to get a DOS prompt. From there I was able to find and delete the files listed in the rootkit log. I followed the rest of the cleanup steps mentioned in the symantec link above and now everything seems to be fine. I'm posting a HJT log here for someone to look over just to be on the safe side. The rootkit revealer scan is now clean.

Bill, did you get the problem with System Restore resolved?

And if you did, how?

Nope, it's not resolved yet. I thought I had read somewhere once that this problem might be caused by a checkdisk needed but not done on a disk that had system restore turned on. I went through each partition and did a checkdisk but it didn't fix the problem. I'm still looking for an answer, haven't found much help in the MS knowledge base either.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'll give it a shot tonight. I'll let you know what happens.

Did some searching today on this problem and can't seem to find anything like it. Found some dll issues and some stop errors that pertain to system restore, but nothing on this particular error.

Thanks for the link. That's definitely going to be a last resort. I can't believe this problem hasn't happened to someone else, so I'm hoping a thorough search will reveal a solution. I'll have more time this weekend to have a go at it. If I come up with something that works I'll post back here.
