go to www3.ca.com/security advisor, do free online pest scan.
when scan is finished, click the + at each pest listed in the box, ca will tell you where it is in your computer.
click the pest name and ca will open a page with info on how to do a manual removal, file names the pest uses, hiding locations, etc.
Also, get regseeker, and use the search registry feature to find the pests. Use the results from ca scan as a guide to help you find pests and delete.

Thien - Welcome to the Board :)

Before anyone can help you with the interpretation of your HJT log please do the following ....

Download HJT to a folder on your hard drive, e.g. HJT and not to the Desktop. Run another scan and post it here.

Open C:, right click a blank space and select New>Folder. Name it HJT. Move HijackThis.exe to that folder and run it from there.

Scan again with HijackThis and place a check next to the following entries. Close ALL other windows and click fix.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [popuppers] C:\WINDOWS\newpop63.exe
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.media-motor.net
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.popuppers.com

Right click My Computer and choose properties. On system restore tab, check the box to turn off. OK out.

Go to start>run and type msconfig, hit enter. On the boot.ini tab, check the box next to /safeboot and OK. DO NOT allow restart.

Download The Killbox from here: http://tools.zerosrealm.com/killbox.zip

Unzip the files to a folder, then open and double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following:

    C:\WINDOWS\newpop63.exe

Click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot ". On the next screen (log), click on the File menu and choose "Add File ". The filename and path should show up in the window. If that's successful, click Action on the log screen menu and select "Process and Reboot ". Allow it to reboot.

Now in safe mode, logon to your user account. You will need to show hidden files and folders, as well as system files and extensions for known file types.

Open C:\Temp if present, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Temp, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Prefetch, select all and delete.
Open C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\temp, select all and delete. Do this for all usernames.
Open the control panel, then internet options and delete the temporary internet files, checking the box for offline content. Delete cookies. Click the security tab, highlight Trusted Sites and click the Sites button. Remove any entries present. Click the programs tab, then the "Reset Web Settings" button. Include your homepage. Close internet options. Then, still in the control panel, open the Java Plug-in, click the cache tab and then clear.
Open My Computer, right click Local disk C: and choose properties, then disk cleanup. Check all boxes except compress old files and OK.
Uncheck the /safeboot box in msconfig and ok to reboot.

Go to the Sun Java Website and update your JRE. Current is 1.4.2_07

Run another HijackThis scan and post the log.

JRE 1.4.2_07, the latest release of the Java Runtime Environment which is basically a Java Virtual Machine. Many programs are written in Java and many web pages use Java, and your machine needs the JVM to decipher it. There have been security vulnerabilities found with the older JRE versions, so it has been updated. Your currently installed (vulnerable) version is 1.4.2_05

    The only other things I would recommend doing are;

    1. Open Internet Options>Programs tab and click the Reset Web Settings button. Then reset your homepage to what-ever you would like it to be.

    2. Unless you are in a networking environment, or otherwise use Windows Messenger, uninstall it, after stopping it's process in task manager. (msmsgs.exe) ** Norton Instant Messaging Monitor will restart that application in short order, so to successfully uninstall, paste the uninstall string and hit enter immediately after stooping the program.

    3. Re-enable System Restore and create a manual restore point.

    4. Open Spybot and click mode on the toolbar, then advanced mode. Click immunize in the left pane, then immunize again, this time from above with the green + beside it. Click the link below that for SpywareBlaster, download, install, enable all protection and update. Check for updates regularly. Then, still in Spybot, click tools button, then IE tweaks and at least lock the HOSTS file.
    Then download and install IESpyad.

That will give you some added layers of protection against unwanted parasites.
