I did a slight edit to your Thread Title.
You should first go to the Quicklinks page below and get Spybot and Ad-Aware. After installing, update them both. Use Ad-Aware with the Custom Full Scan, and let Spybot remove everything already check off.
Reboot, and then delete all files in all Temp folders for all users.
Then unzip HJT into it's own folder [not the desktop!] and post a new log. It is not a good idea to run it from a zip file or a temp folder. It creates backups of everything it fixes, and you would like to undo any mistakes easily.

I see Mark posted while I was working up a response. A good idea to do as he suggests first, then fix anything remaining that I have listed.

You may want to print this out, or save it to text where you can access it in safe mode.

First, create a new folder, such as C:\HJT, and put HijackThis.exe in it. That will keep all the backups together and preserve them from deletion when you empty temp files.

You are or were using Kazaa. This is not technically malware by itself, but it installs malware in order to run properly and it opens the door for every other nasty program you can think of. I strongly recommend that you remove it. Read this article for alternatives that will provide some of the same function without the garbage: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/ If you opt to remove it, first use Add/Remove Program to remove it and any reference to Altnet and P2P Networking. Go to your control panel, then to add/remove programs...uninstall P2P networking...If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.
P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns. You may also want to run KazaaBegone to completely purge it from the system. Make sure to get the available LSPFix, just in case. Additionally, there is another new 'nasty' virus using P2P networks to spread itself. More here.

Download and install RegSeeker.

Go to start>run and type services.msc. Locate Wintools in the list, right click and stop. Right click again and select properties. Set to disabled and OK out.

Right click My Computer and choose properties. On system restore tab, check the box to turn off. OK out.

Scan again with HijackThis and place a check next to the following entries. Close ALL other windows and click fix.

Go to start>run and type msconfig, hit enter. On the boot.ini tab, check the box next to /safeboot and OK. Yes to restart. This will restart your computer in safe mode.

Now in safe mode, you will need to show hidden files and folders, as well as system files.

Open C:\Program Files and delete the folder AutoUpdate.
Open C:\Program Files\Common files and delete the folder WinTools.
Open C:\WINDOWS\system32 and delete the files wapisvsu.exe, wapisu.exe, wapiit.exe, wapicc.exe, wapitr.exe, dp-k13w13.exe and the folder P2P Networking.
Open C:\Temp if present, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Temp, select all and delete.
Open C:\Documents and settings\username\Local Settings\temp, select all and delete. Do this for all usernames.
Open C:\Windows\Prefetch, select all and delete.

Open RegSeeker. Click find in registry and search the entire registry for WinTools and WTools. Delete all.

Open Ad-aware and run a full scan. Delete all it finds.

Open My Computer, right click Local disk C: and choose properties, then disk cleanup. Check all boxes except compress old files and OK.
Uncheck the /safeboot box in msconfig and ok to reboot.

Back in Windows, you can re-enable system restore. Run another HijackThis scan and post the log.

I had already downloaded spybot and adware and recently updated them. But I ran them again tonight anyway. Adware found 93 NEW objects and I just ran this last night!! I also got rid of the P2P from Kaaza, that program was a nightmare!! My kids wanted it for downloading Cds. Any other programs out there that they can do the same things without all the issues of Kaaza?

I didn't get into the instructions of the second reply because I wanted to see what the second HJT log was going to show. So I'll wait for a reply before I do any more. I'll tell you though, my PC is already running faster!!

Oh one other question, sometimes when I visit a site it goes to netspry.com first VERY annoying! Any idea why this is happening? It was also happening with something called ads234.com....any idea on this one too?

for this check out the link in Dave's first post in the thread but take care - when installing even the ones which are "unbundled ", you may well be "offered the opportunity" to "help us by installing our partner's software" - that sort of thing, you will have to UNcheck these options as they tend to come turned on by default.

Particularly take care to avoid having anything to do with "Webhancer" - I've just witnessed an awful case of burnt fingers with this wretched pest. It hooks into the Winsock (thrice, and an agent too) and is terribly hard to get rid of... seriously bad news.

The second log, although I didn't compare it line for line, looks very much like the first, and everything listed in my first reply that still applies to the new log should be done. Then post a new log and we'll see what's left.

After finishing everything I got a pop up about System Configuration Utility saying that it is in diagnostic or selective start up mode and to choose normal startup mode on the general tab to start windows and undo the changes I made......How do I do this and should I do this?

After using the safeboot option, you will get prompted about the system configuration. Normally you would just click OK and go on, but this entry, O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSConfig] C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\MSConfig.exe /auto, tells me that you may have unchecked some items from the startup tab in msconfig, which will also give you the prompt. Not knowing what you may have unchecked, please recheck everything on the startup tab before rebooting, then do another HJT scan and post the log, so that we can see what all is there. Unchecked items will not show up in a HJT scan.

I haven't been through all of the 016 entries yet, but will and will let you know in my next reply if any need to go.

Unless I am mis-reading the running processes, it appears you have both McAfee and AVG virus protection running at the same time.

That is usually not a good idea since they can cause problems with both are running.

No , just scan again and fix the entries. Then check the startup tab in msconfig, make sure all entries are checked and reboot. Then do another scan and post the log. Newt is correct also in that you should disable one of your AV programs. Use one for constant protection and just keep the other updated for a backup scannner. Let us know which you would like to disable.
