    Hi,

I would normally quarantine any malware found, but this time I do not have that option. I can only Ignore or remove. I do not dare remove because the location is in the registry as follows:

    HKey_Current_User_Software_Policies_Microsoft_Windows_Internet Explorer_Control Panel_Homepage

Can I remove a registry entry without messing up the computer? Should I Ignore?

Please help as this is on my daughter's laptop and she is counting on me to be her support.

    Thanks,
    Ann

To advice, I need to see a whole info about what exactly is about to be removed.
What program was used, what exactly was found.

Do not delete anything! Listen to broni. He is the one of malware experts here. MBAM will give this warning if you use a program such as SpywareBlaster to lock your homepage.

SuperAntispyware, which she also has, is set to block any changes to homepage. Should I just select to Ignore it? Do you suggest that I wait until broni replies?

    Thanks.

    Malwarebytes found:

    vendor: Hijack.Homepage
    category: Registry Data
    Items: HKey_Current_User_Software_Policies_Microsoft_Windows_Internet Explorer_Control Panel_Homepage
    Other: Good (1) Bad (0)

It doesn't show anything else, broni.

Either. If the owner prefers having the Internet Explorer home page locked select Ignore.
