    Hi
My computer will reach temperatures of 38 degrees celsius(100F) and will shut down. It may do this after 10 minutes of operation or at times will run all day and not get heated. I had a fan replaced about six months ago and you can hear the fan operating normally but is it possible the fan is too small? My second fan rarely operates.

Running Windows XP with 256 MB ram on a Athlon 750 CPU

100° Farenheit isn't very hot for a CPU. My office gets that hot sometimes! (My forehead even!)

Check your MOBO spec sheet and see how you are allowed to set the max. temp for shut off limit. Then bump it up a tad.

    :)

Try a quick look in the CMOS settings of the BIOS. It may or may not be there. Then some systems have a Windows program that can set it. Look in Control Panel.

Else, you may need to get the make/model of your MOBO and visit their site for further or report it here and hope for someone with direct knowledge.

    :)
